Mind Teasers or Mean Mind Games!!!
October 9, 2012
We did it!
October 9, 2012
We did it!
We had Thanksgiving dinner with friends, Wes and Nancy. Nancy is so super thoughtful everytime we see her. She bought our kids some mind teaser games to keep them occupied at her house. It did just that. I still think they are frustration at it's best and they are a very quick way to make you feel stupid but the kids really liked them and deep down somewhere inside I like them too. We finally managed to finish off all four puzzles and had to take a picture for Nancy to prove that we can beat the puzzles........well, Jake can at least! We all did at least one of them and Jake did all four!
Jake and Matthew's Birthday Party

There were some tumbles but mostly success!

The birthday boys!
Matthew and Jake.

Matthew's birthday was in August when we were camping and we didn't get around to doing a party for him. Jake's birthday was in September and we didn't do a party for him either. We decided to do a combined party for both boys. A Langley Rivermen hockey game. The tickets were super cheap, we could even use an Entertainment Book coupon so they were both allowed to choose four friends to come along. We 'borrowed' another dad so we could have enough room for the kids in the cars....thanks Evan.
Jake was at another party that afternoon along with the dad's - they went golfing - so we had Matthew's friends come over first. They could then have some time to be what Grade 4 boys are like before Jake and his crew of boys came over.
A Ripstick! How fun is that? Thanks for the Turtle! Matthew can never have too many of those!
Quinton, Matthew, Kaleb, Zebedee and Luke. A bit of a bundle of energy and fun!
The ripstick was a hit! Matthew had to try it out right away! There were some tumbles but mostly success!
BUDS!
I didn't make a cake. The cupcakes were a hit!
The big guys came back from their round of golf, had a quick hotdog dinner and a cupcake, and then we headed to the Langley Events Centre for the game.
Grade 4 and Grade 7 boys! Very fun!
Noah, Jake, Josh, Bryce and Chase enjoying the warm up!
There were hardly any people there and seating was not pre-assigned so front row it was!
Quinton, Luke, Zeb, Kaleb and Matthew having fun too!The birthday boys!
Matthew and Jake.
These two don't always agree with each other, they pick on each other in their unique little ways but when it really comes down to it......brothers they will be! They'll look out for each other and one day will really grow to appreciate each other!
One day, Matthew might even catch up in size yet too! He's growing you see.
Matthew met the mascot. So did Jake but we didn't get a picture of them together. He did get on the big screen though!
And the Rivermen managed to pull off a win in a tense game of hockey.

Cards, Cards and More Cards!
September 29, 2012
September 29, 2012
Nicole had Kyleigh and Kelian overnight. When they woke, too early in the morning, they started making cards. Their plan was to sell the cards to make some money. They made a lot of cards and then I went through some that I just wasn't using. Kyleigh is highly organized, hope she passes that quality on over to her friend, Little Miss Nicole, and had the entire thing all planned out.
They got all set up at the end of the street across from the dog park. They made a few sales there before they moved on into the dog park parking lot where they ended up selling quite a few. They sat there for close to 3 hours!
Just a small sampling of their wares!
The 3 very excited and much richer girls! They each made $14.25!!!
Of course they wanted to spend some of it so they took the loose change and spent it at the little corner store nearby.
I don't think they ever thought they would make that much money. Now of course, they want to do it again! "Can we do it every Saturday?"
Crayon Day
September 24, 2012
September 24, 2012
We are back at it. Another new school year. A whole new set of fun days! This one was easy! Crayon Day. All we needed to do was dress in one colour.
I don't have pictures of Jake and Matthew as the camera wasn't working in the morning at home. Jake was grey, Matthew was also grey, Nicole was blue and I was black. We are not the most colourful crayons in the pack but at least we participated!
This year I am working in the grade 2 class. Logan is my special man this year. -Don't worry Sterling, you will always and forever be my special man!
Langley Golf Driving Range
August 24, 2012
August 24, 2012
I know, this is out of order but I just remembered we had these pictures on Dave's phone.
Dave thought it might be fun to take me golfing but he felt it may be a wise idea to go to the driving range first. The last time he took me to the driving range was a very long time ago. I think we were just married. It wasn't a very good experience as I was a bit of a hazard to the range. Can you get the golf ball in the netting above you? I can.....don't know how but I can.
This time we thought we would endanger our children too! We headed to the furthest corner of the driving range and had a blast! No one got hurt and I think Dave would even take us all again!
Matthew has played around with golf clubs for a long time already and he does a pretty good job of whacking that ball!
Nicole, well she kind of had a hard time of it. She knew it and had fun trying anyway. Of course she roped her Daddy into helping her. Daddy's girl all the way that girl is!
Jake's a pro by my standards! Man can he send that ball sailing!
I am not so much a pro but can do a fine job. No balls in the netting above..........there was no netting above. Actually, I can hit that ball pretty straight and far yet too.
Dave is a great teacher and I think he was highly amused by all of us!
