Jake made the basketball team so here we go again.....with watching a new sport!
He's finding he needs to work hard to learn a new game very different than volleyball and his comfort sport of hockey. Oh, he's smart enough, technical enough and athletic enough to pick it up...but can he be aggressive enough? He'll get there....he's trying hard.

The basketball team had a tournament in Delta and the coach thought it would be a good idea if they all stayed at one house that Friday night. We offered to house the boys. Other parents provided dinner, snacks and drinks so that it would make things easier for me.
They all slept downstairs, all 10 of them crammed in here, there and everywhere. On the floor, mattresses, rocking chair, couch and bed!
I have NEVER smelled anything so disgusting in my life, even worse than a hockey change room! The boys had had PE at school that day, played a game in the tournament, some played hockey that night and not ONE of them showered before going to bed! DISGUSTING!!!! We had to have the windows open in that room for 2 days to air it out! Oh well, they bonded!
They had to get up pretty early as the bus was coming to get them by 7:40 AM! Not sure who was the smart one thinking that the sleepy Spoor household could get anyone out the door at that time let alone a whole basketball team of 13 year olds! Well, shock of all shocks, we did it and with time to spare yet too. Not only that, there no one left anything behind!
Hmmm.....maybe we will do it again sometime? Next time with nose plugs and mandatory showers!!!
