On October 29 we had some trees taken down in our yard. We have been debating whether or not to keep them or get rid of them. Finally we decided to get rid of 4. Yes...4 trees. One was on the right side of the tree fort and the other 3 were on the left of it. We also had some branches taken off of the big tree in 'middle' of the yard. This should really lighten up our yard and maybe help with the amount of pine needles we have on our roof and eaves all the time.

This is the before shot...taken sometime in July 2008

It was a super rainy day...not the best of weather to be out in the sawdust but these 2 guys worked away at it and cleared the trees up. I wouldn't have wanted to be the one out there.

...and this is the final product, except the trunk that the tree man is on is not there anymore. They also got rid of the tree trunk stuck in the deck of our tree fort. Now Dave can patch the floor there and it won't be such a hazard for the kids coming up and down the ladder into the fort.

Now, what to do with the pile of logs?

Lucky for us we know someone who heats their house with wood burning stoves all winter. He came to pick it all up and now it's gone. We kept a bit of it but we really didn't need anymore so we gladly gave it up.

Wow...that makes quite the difference! Nice to be getting stuff done around the place :) I wish I could say the same around here.

Too bad you don't live closer...we could use that wood! Looks good in your yard. The former owners probably wouldn't recognize the place back!
