The BIG 4-0! Yes, I hit the big 40 and Dave planned a party. When he asked me when I wanted to celebrate it I kept saying next year but he didn't go for it! He insisted we celebrate this year so celebrate we did. Dave took care of it all, well most of it. I did help a bit but he did do most of it. He had some others bring some food and we took care of the rest. We arranged to have the kids gone for the night so that they wouldn't wake from the noise of the party and I wouldn't have to deal with them if they did wake up! Thanks to all of you who took them in!

Dave bought my favourite dessert....flavoured cheesecakes. Then he surprised me with a most fun fruit basket as well. A flower arrangement made with fruit. How cool is that!?!?

He also decorated the house....just to make sure everyone knew how old I was.

Because the weather wasn't looking so promising Dave thought it would be best to put a tarp up over the deck. It proved to be a very wise idea. Just before everyone came we had a hail storm and a bit of rain. It was cold out so this would help block the wind a bit too. Our helpful neighbor let us borrow some little heaters to put on a propane tank and they were most wonderful too. We had a little outdoor room added to our house.

The sky was looking a bit threatening so Dave tied concrete blocks to the tarp and then anchored them to the chimney! Wouldn't want to have concrete blocks falling on people's heads.

Then the guests arrived!...and arrived and arrived. It was overwhelming to have all those people here for me but we sure had fun! Sorry helpful neighbors for the noise we produced!

I was spoiled by everyone with gifts and wine....they sure know me! Bob and Yvonne brought some shooters and since there were 4 of them I made the have them with Dave and I! Yummy little treat!

There you have it....Jac joined the over 40 club and now we can get on with things. Oh, by the way....never tell your kids that you are over-the-hill.....they announce it to their class! Thanks Jake!
