Track and Field

Jake participated in the Quad School Track and Field meet at the Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford.  He always looks forward to days like this.  Athletics are fun and he does well too.  I think last year he went into it thinking he should do okay and maybe even walk away with a ribbon or 2 but that was not so.  So this year he had a better perspective and totally enjoyed his day.  He even came home with a ribbon this year!

Jake's day started with ball throw and he was doing really well but not well enough for a fourth place finish. 

Last year Jake did the 400 m race and he said he would never ever do that one again.....

.....well, never say never my dear boy because you did it again, and you did it well!!  He came second in his heat but did not make the final heat. 

 Well done Jake.

Jake's last 2 events were jumping events.  Long Jump and his favourite Triple Jump.  Long jump he did well in but once again just short of a ribbon but Triple Jump was another story!

Jake had 2 really great jumps for Triple Jump but.....

 He tied for 3rd so there was a jump off do determine who would be 3rd and who place 4th.

Jake jumped:  8.30m still not as far as my record but I am pretty sure that one day he will beat it.

After doing some practice jumps the boys were ready to have their final jump recorded.

Both of them ended up jumping further than the 2nd place finisher.

Jake placed 3rd and Josiah 4th.
