This post was also supposed to be included with the last Deception Pass entry...but oh well, here's the rest of our trip.

Jake...always looking for a challenge...a challenge that most of us wouldn't even think about much less actually do it. He succeeds though...with no injuries.

On our last day almost everyone else went off to different places to check out the area around the park but we stayed at camp. We went for a walk to show William, Jeffrey and Auntie Linda the really cool teeter-totters. We had fun until Nicole got her foot smashed between the logs while the teeter-totter came down unexpectedly too fast. She was in a lot of pain and Dave had to carry her around for the remainder of our walk.

Jake really liked the teeter-totter. He can't go high enough or bumpy enough. He has to find something to challenge himself and this time was no exception.

He would walk along the log all the way from one end to the other, place some rocks right on the tip of the log and then jump off. As he jumped off the rocks at the tip would be catapulted high into the air. Life is just a series of experiments right? It sure is for Jake...always thinking.

Nicole was getting a special ride back and Jake gave one to William too.

During our 'peaceful' camping trip we got to see plenty of fighter jets and army aircraft. The park is very near to a United States Air Base. The planes flew overhead all week and they were not quiet. Sometimes they were alarmingly loud and unexpectedly low! Thrilling but sometimes a bit annoying.

Having Jake Woltjer around is always entertaining. He was constantly coming up interesting games for all to play. I am a sucker and always get sucked into his humor...an easy target I guess.

The first game he came up with was while he would stand with his back to the bird I would give him directions as to where the nearest unlucky seagull was and he would try to get it with a bird. I don't know where the problem was but he never did get one bird....close.

The next game was: Everyone lines up with their backs to the water. Each of us has a rock and throws it the nearest to the water but not touching the water.

Then we had to stand facing the water, each of us armed with rocks, and we had to throw the rocks at the rocks on the log standing up. Whoever hit the rocks off was the lucky winner!

What was the prize you ask? Nothing....just pure satisfaction! Never a dull moment with Jake around. Must be the name. Thanks for keeping us entertained once again Jake.

I told you it's never dull with Jake around and when you put Jake and Dave together this is what you get. How they convinced Rich to be part of such a 'dangerous' activity I do not know but it sure was fun! The wagons only collided and flipped over once...not bad. Good thing you didn't strap Shawn into one of the wagons though.

Our little patient. Her foot was really sore. So sore in fact that we considered taking her to the Dr in the States but decided that since we were heading home the next day we would try to get her into our own Dr. The ankle ended up being just fine, a bit bruised but it healed up fairly quickly. No cast needed...thankfully!

Opa John had his computer handy and he set up a movie for Nicole and the rest of the kids to watch.

The sun was setting and the boys were off fishing while the girls watched the movie. (The boys only lasted for a short time at the movies) They didn't catch any fish but it was a fun experience anyway. Not often do you fish right off the beach at the ocean.

Matthew woke up the last morning with a very high fever and he felt pretty rotten. So rotten that he asked if he could stay in the bed while we drove home. Tempting but we didn't do it!

And last picture....our site, right beside Rich and Carolyn. They were great sites. Had water and power hook-ups and were right across the road from the bathroom. I would camp there again.

Now we had to head home, off on our next adventure. Stay tuned!
