Math Competition
February 13, 2014

Jake signed up to be a part of a math competition.  Credo High School sent 4 teams of grade 8 and 9's to Fraser Valley University to compete and Jake was on one the grade 8 teams.  Jordyn and Evan were there too so Marnie, Pauline and I thought it would be fun to go watch.  We didn't realize we were not even allowed to go into the rooms. We managed to stop in the first room....that's the Credo kids in the back and the front row.  We thought we would get to see them all doing math problems in an auditorium kind of like a Jeopardy set up but nope....they sat in classrooms pretty much all day doing math.  After the day was done listening to them in the car was fun.  They all felt dumb throughout the day, - because for once they didn't know all the answers and that's a new experience for them - they didn't really like the whole set up of being in classrooms working all day, - especially since they kind of thought this competition would be a great way to skip another day of regular school - but they did enjoy the experience anyway.  One team from grade 9 made it to the provincials so that's pretty cool.
