Cultus Lake Provincial Park - June 29-July 3, 2011
We thought it would be fun to go camping with Joni and Dave. Actually we had it booked already before they had booked their trip out to BC and we convinced them that camping in BC would be fun.
When we arrived at the park it was pouring rain! Oh dear, this was not starting out very well. Joni and Dave were to be sleeping in a tent. We had tried to arrange for them to use Dave's parents motor home but Cultus would not let us put a motor home on the site as well as our trailer so a tent it would be for them. It was all out downpour as we were setting up the tent and first ups. I was feeling a bit bad sleeping in our trailer with them and their 2 little kids stuck in a tent but they were dry and the tent did not leak! That's good because we were a bit unsure of the tent as it hadn't been used for about 10 years!
Joni and Dave were up at the crack of dawn every morning while we did our usual camping routine of sleeping in! They went for walks and even went for breakfast one morning to fill some of their time and keep the campsite quiet for us. You were so nice Joni and Dave!
They were a bit disgusted with the size of our slugs! I am too!
The rain didn't seem to bother Griffin at all. It was a good thing I found our kid's little rain jacket that they used to wear for our rainy BC weather, because Griffin could go out into the rain and be dry!

By the looks on Joni's face I don't think she was as impressed with the rain as Griffin was! Poor Riley had to be held a lot that first evening as it was just too muddy to let him crawl around! We were lucky to have borrowed 2 extra first up shelters as we then had lots of space to sit and stay dry!
The boys did get dirty eventually and needed a bath. Instead of heating up water and putting it in a Rubbermaid outside they had a nice warm bath in our trailer tub!
