Matthew turned 11 while we were on holidays in Port Angeles. He wanted to have his party before school started....so did I.
He wanted to have a few boys over to play some roller hockey and go to the BMX bike park near our house.
That sounded easy to me so that's what we did!
Once all the boys arrived they were off to the BMX track before Dave and I knew what was going on. It was too late to call them back so we finished up some last minute things and then started getting ready to head on over to get some pictures of the boys racing around the track. The boys were gone no longer than 10 minutes and 2 of them were back to tell us that we needed to get there because Luke was hurt and there was blood! Oops! We headed on over with the van and yes indeed Luke was injured.... Not a pretty sight. He was pretty shaken up but it looked to be like some serious road rash but it didn't look too deep.
A few weeks later we found out that he actually cracked his cheek bone.
There will be no more BMX track parties happening here again!
Matthew opened his gifts.
Back row: Ryan, Kaleb, Zeb, Levi, Ethan and Justus
Front row: Quinton and Adam
Then they played road hockey on the most amazing road hockey road ever! The new pavement rocked!
In case you don't know....
....the way you pick teams is to throw your sticks in a pile and have one player, with eyes closed, toss the sticks into 2 piles. Zeb's crutch made it into the pile too! No he didn't play....he had to watch.
The mess of bikes left lying around!
Our gourmet dinner...
Hot dogs, Matthew's request.
He's so easy!
11 years old!!!
No girlfriends!
