When we got home from holidays there was a letter from the city. We thought, oh dear what did we do wrong, but no, it was just a letter stating that our road was going to be repaved! My first response was cool, it will be nice and neat looking.
The boys on the other hand were super excited because this meant we would have THE best road for road hockey around!
Today they stripped the old pavement off and started preparing for the new stuff.
They did so much work on this first day that we thought it would be done in no time....no such luck.
It ended up taking the 2 weeks they said it would.
All the machinery was fun to watch.
This reminded me of my childhood winter days as this is what they used to clear the snow off our road. Every day when we had lots of snow, which seemed like always as a kid, the snow plow would come by to clear the road. It had a much larger blade than the one being used on this one.
I was busy while the road was being done. Marnie's kids were over and I made some most delicious salsa. This should get me through the winter! After a few trips to various stores to find the right lids I managed to get it all done.
These next 2 pictures have nothing to do with road work and salsa but I wanted to show you what we found on our holiday in Port Angeles. Finally we have something up on our wall. It's only been about 4 years that we did our reno and we finally have something up on the wall.
