Wes was at our door on Saturday morning at 9:00! Dave and I had cleared out the storage space under the stairs and we were ready to get on with the next step. Ha! The next step! Our stairs were going to be rebuilt today. See that wall in between the 2 flights of stairs? That will be gone! Our new rails will be set on each step! Wes had it all planned out. The treads would be wider and the whole stair case would be moved in towards the kitchen a bit. The lower set would be moved in even more to try to create more space on our very small landing. They worked all day.....12-13 hours! What a long day but the finished product is so very worth it.
The boys were hanging around throughout the entire process!
Did you see that? Matthew is hanging on his hammer which is stuck on a nail in the old wall.
Rob came to do a bit of electrical that day........he took Marnie and the kids too. Paul also came to start on the plumbing and venting too. It's a good thing I had made lots of burgers for lunch!
Tools everywhere!
And yes, Dave used them! Wes had Dave working very hard all day!
The kids were good at keeping occupied. Lots of flipping out!
And lots of hammering away. Wes showed Matthew his nail stash! He was busy for hours!
Jake and Nicole also did a bit of building.
They made a table to eat their dinner from!
It was a long day but the stairs were done, the guys had some dessert and we all headed off to bed! The reno has really started now! We're onto the building stage!
